Learn English at CCA’s Community ESL Program

Learn English Online This Fall

Online classes start October 3 and end December 12.

The Community College of Aurora’s Community ESL program will help you learn the necessary English language skills for work and day-to-day life in the United States. We cover speaking, listening, reading, and writing, along with vocabulary and grammar. We will prepare you for real-life experiences such as filling out forms, reading labels, preparing for college, and finding jobs. CCA’s Community ESL program is a non-credit program.

All classes will be online this term. We will use WebEx and Google Classroom to conduct the online classes. When you enroll, you will receive instructions to access the classes. And the best part is the classes will be recorded so you can review them at any time!

Students may improve their English through enrollment in the following online classes:

  • Community ESL Levels 1 through 6: $150 for 10 weeks
  • Grammar and Writing Bridge 1 or 2: $150 for 10 weeks
  • Speaking and Pronunciation Bridge 1 or 2: $150 for 10 weeks
  • American Language and Culture: $150 for 10 weeks
  • Citizenship: $30 for 10 weeks

Other opportunities

For students that have completed the upper levels of the Community ESL program, you can take the following three classes:

  • American Language and Culture: focuses on reading longer texts and communicating more complex ideas. This is a good class for au pairs, and the hours spent in class *do* count towards your visa requirements!
  • Speaking and Pronunciation Bridge: focuses on pronunciation and the speaking skills needed at work or at college.
  • Grammar and Writing Bridge: focuses on grammar and writing for students who are interested in going to college.

Citizenship classes

This class is designed to help people who are planning to apply for U.S. Citizenship to prepare for the citizenship test. Anyone with a "green card" may take this class, and if you are planning to apply for Citizenship soon, we strongly recommend that you start taking this class *before* you complete your application.
