Patient Representative

The Patient Representative certificate program provides graduates with a foundation in healthcare navigation and allows them to access good entry-level jobs in call centers, dispatch centers, and other areas where familiarity and comfort in working in healthcare administration and navigation is required.

The program will assist students in gaining employment after a relatively short period of education

Students interested in this program will need to attend an information session in January before being enrolled by program staff. Details will be posted soon.

Program Level Outcomes (PLOs)

Statements which articulate, in measurable terms, what students should know and be able to demonstrate as a result of and at the conclusion of a program. PLOs communicate program goals explicitly and foster transfer of responsibility for learning from faculty to students.

A student who obtains a Patient Representative certificate from the Community College of Aurora will demonstrate the following abilities:

  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate health information using different modalities to patients, family, and healthcare providers.
