I wanted to be a vet! Then I realized I don't do well with blood.
I started out in retail at King Soopers and Walmart, then worked at Colorado State University as a Career Specialist for the Career Center and a Career Counselor for the College of Health and Human Sciences.
I wish I would have known that it's okay to explore and gain experiences outside of your major- to build a more well-rounded outlook of careers and what my interests were.
The favorite part of my job is working with students and hearing their stories, experiences, and learning about them so that we can work together to find that perfect fit whether it be planning their next career, job, or just a side job to do in addition to what they already do!
I wanted to be a Deep Sea Diver
I’ve been a Restaurant GM and every job within restaurants. I’ve also been a Training Videographer and writer
How to access and make better use of the people at the college who can help!
Getting to see the smiles of students or alumni after they have accomplished a personal career success.
I grew up in Detroit surrounded by music and musicians so I wanted to be a performing artist. I wanted to sing, dance and act!
I have held positions in several industries. A loan specialist for a bank, curriculum editor for Quiznos, project administrator for 4240 Architecture, parent engagement specialist for Denver Public Schools, community outreach director for a health nonprofit and an account manager for a Hispanic-owned advertising agency are among many roles that I have had the pleasure of experiencing in my career. I consider myself blessed to be able to navigate through several industries using my communications and project management skills.
I wish that I would have known the various ways that I could have used my communications degree. It took me about 4 years after I graduated to figure it out.
The favorite part my job is being able to expose students to a variety of career possibilities within different industries, helping them to visualize their potential and providing them with opportunities to gain experience in their areas of interest.
