Do you want to build the practical English skills to get a college degree?

The College Preparatory ESL Program offers high-quality language classes that help students master academic English for college and career training programs. ESL students who successfully complete the advanced-level composition, grammar, and reading courses are eligible for the ESL Department's Certificate of Completion.

Learn about the classes in the College Prep ESL Program and what to expect in your first semester.

Part 1: Complete the CCA online application

View Part 1 for directions to complete the CCA online application.  After you finish the application, check your email for your Student Number. 

Note: International Students with an F1 visa must go through a different process. Please visit our International Students page for more information.

Part 2: Complete the ESL-LOEP placement test

View Part 2 for directions to study for and schedule the ESL-LOEP placement test.  After you test, schedule an appointment with your advisor and register for classes!

Part 3: Complete these final steps to get ready for your class

View Part 3 to learn how to use your CCA student email, learn more about help paying for classes, and learn how to buy the books for your class.
