Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship

Each January, the Community College of Aurora honors the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and all he has done to promote freedom, justice, and unity. This celebration is a time for us to come together as a community and reflect on the life and work of Dr. King toward positive social change in America.

In honor of Dr. King’s efforts in empowerment and community inclusion, the CCA Foundation and Office of Student Life have come together to create two $500 scholarships for CCA students who meet the following criteria.

Applicants must:

  • Volunteer or be part of an ongoing community outreach/engagement initiative
  • Be in good academic standing with the institution (GPA 2.0 or higher)
  • Have completed a minimum of 12 credits at CCA
  • Be enrolled in Spring 2018 with a minimum of 6 credit hours
  • Fully complete application and essay
  • Note: To be eligible, you must be a current student. Concurrent enrollment students are not eligible for this award. No citizenship status required.
