Dr. Blackman graduated Cum Laude with honors in mathematics from Brooklyn College, CUNY and he holds M.Phil and Ph.D. degrees in mathematics from The Graduate School of City University of New York. Prior to arriving at the University of Denver, Dr. Blackman was a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Mathematics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
He is the founding faculty member of the undergraduate degree program in mathematics at Medgar Evers College and Co-Founder and Director of The Frank Ragland Math Masters Institute, an initiative designed to engage middle school students in Central Brooklyn in the development of their mathematical interest and talents.
